Role Overview:
Lead the development and commercialization of footwear upper materials and trims, ensuring high-quality execution from concept to production. Provide technical expertise and collaborate with US and Asia teams to align with brand goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage material development to meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
Oversee timely sample production and ensure clear communication with global teams.
Collaborate with US teams on material selection, strategy, and supplier handoffs.
Work with Asia teams to execute seasonal material plans and resolve supplier issues.
Foster strong relationships with internal teams, factories, and external partners.
Drive process improvements and align with sustainability initiatives.
Research new materials, technologies, and best practices.
Travel as needed for supplier engagement and training.

Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Textile Engineering, or equivalent.
5-8 years in footwear material development for a global brand.
Expertise in material applications, product construction, SATRA testing, and sustainability.
Skills & Competencies
Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Proficient in material testing tools, Microsoft Applications, and PLM systems.
Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.
