A Primary Classroom Assistant should be adaptable and resourceful. They should be able to perform a wide
variety of roles to support the teachers in the education of the students. They must be able to communicate
effectively in English and maintain a flexible working relationship with the teacher. They must possess a
sound knowledge of the school’s Vision and Mission statement. Classroom Assistants are expected to be in
school between 7.30am and 4.30pm every week day.
Teaching and learning
● Assist in the educational and social development of all ISPH students.
● Work with groups of students to assist the teacher.
● Provide support for individual students and small groups inside and outside the classroom to enable
them to fully participate in activities.
● Lead groups of students in EAL and Phonics activities and Vietnamese cultural lessons
● Work with specialist teachers when required.
● Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
● Lead a weekly co-curricular activity (CCA).
